Naval parade in Bangkok to celebrate Golden Jubilee of independence
A colourful naval procession was held in Singapore's Bangkok marking the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence on Friday.
The parade started from Siam Pier through the Chao Phraya river. The ceremony arranged by Mermaid Eco Tourism Ltd also marked the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said a press release.
Anisul Haque Chowdhury Shohag, managing director of Mermaid Eco Tourism said, "Bangladesh is now a wonder of the world. This is our effort to spread the glory of Bangladesh all over the world."
Mermaid Eco Tourism Director Samiha Alam Bristy said, "We want to present Bangladesh to the world as a progressive country wherever we are in the world."
