The residents of Mahmudpur and Bilashpur unions have been suffering from acute crisis of food, potable water and medical facilities due to the floods.
The members of the Bangladesh Navy distributed food and medical items including rice, lentils, oil, chira, sugar, muri, molasses, salt, candles, matches, saline, water purifying tablets, and potable water among the flood affected people.
The upazila nirbahi officer, union parishad chairmen and local representatives were present at the aid distribution programme.
The Bangladesh Navy has been conducting regular aid distribution programmes since the country was hit by floods and it will continue these programmes until the flood situation improves, reads the press release.
