NGO worker killed in truck-motorcycle collision in Cox’s Bazar

An NGO worker riding a motorcycle was killed after being hit by a truck today (9 January) in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar.
The victim was identified as Liku Mankin, 32, son of Abani Dio from the Bharatpur area under Netrokona's Durgapur upazila and an employee of Terres Des Homes.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-charge of Ukhia police station Md Arid Hossain said, "The accident happened at Kutupalong Bazar on Teknaf-Cox's Bazar highway around 12pm."
"The accident occurred when a truck with license no- Chatta Metro T-119796 rammed into the motorcycle from behind while going towards Teknaf from Cox's Bazar. Although Liku got seriously injured, his wife and child remained unharmed," the OC said.
"Liku was declared dead by doctors after he was taken to Ukhia Upazila Health Complex for treatment," the OC added.
While talking about the seizure of the truck, the OC further said legal steps are being taken in this regard.
Earlier on 2 January, two people were killed after a bus and a motorcycle collided in Moynarghora area under the Palongkhali union in Ukhia.
