NITER students stage sit-in demanding new director, resumption of academic activities
A group of students from the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) staged a sit-in programme in Karwan Bazar this afternoon, demanding appointment of a new director and the resumption of academic activities.
The demonstration started at around 3pm bringing vehicular movement to a standstill, said Masud Rana, assistant commissioner of Dhanmondi traffic zone.
The police official also said there has been heavy traffic congestion on the road in front of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) office.
