Those who speak of rehabilitating murderer Hasina are power hungry like her: Sarjis Alam
July Shaheed Smrity Foundation provides Tk5 lakh each to families of 79 martyrs in Barishal
There is no question of offering rehabilitation to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her associates, July Shaheed Smrity Foundation General Secretary Sarjis Alam said today (23 November), warning that they would not allow it even at the cost of their lives.
"Those who speak of rehabilitating Hasina, without a trial first, are just as power hungry and greedy like her," he said.
Speaking to reporters at the Bhola Shilpakala Academy auditorium, he said Hasina had clung on to power singing songs about her family at the top of her lungs.

"Wherever she went, she cried for her family. She cried about the 18 people, but not the 2,000 July martyrs," he said.
"If she understood compassion, how could she commit these murders? They have no right to continue in Bangladesh with their political platform."
Sarjis said Hasina and her cohorts would have to answer for all the murders.
The July Shaheed Smrity Foundation today also decided to provide financial assistance to 79 families of martyrs in Barishal.
In this regard, Sarjis said they would initially give Tk5 lakh to each family.
"This is just the beginning... We will try our best to meet the logical needs as long as needed. We will provide jobs and arrange honorariums, alongside the financial assistance," he added.
