Actor Abdul Kader laid to rest at Banani graveyard

Renowned actor Abdul Kader has been laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard in the capital.
He was buried around 5.35pm after his second Namaz-e-Janaza at the mosque adjacent to the graveyard.
Earlier at 3pm, the veteran actor was kept at Shilpakala premises in the capital's Segunbagicha area for showing respect which was attended by his long time co-artists and well wishers. Abdul Kader's first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at the central mosque of Mirpur DOHS.
Abdul Kader, who was diagnosed with stage IV cancer, breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in the capital at 8:20am.
The admired actor Abdul Kader, well-known for playing iconic comedy characters, had been suffering from cancer and returned home from an Indian hospital in Chennai on 20 December.
Afterward, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital.
He was tested positive for Covid-19 on 21 December.
On 6 December, Abdul Kader was taken to Christian Medical College Hospital in Chennai after falling seriously ill as a tumor was detected after a computerised tomography scan of his entire body. He was taken to different hospitals in Dhaka before being taken to India.
