Liberation War veteran Captain Akram dies

Valiant freedom fighter Captain Akram Ahmed Bir Uttam died on Monday (7 December) at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka. He was 74.
Captain Akram Ahmed had played a heroic role as a pilot during the 1971 Liberation War. He was one of the nine pilots of Operation Kilo Fight, the code name for the Mukti Bahini combat aviation formation.
He left behind his wife, daughter, host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep condolences and sympathy over the demise of Captain Akram Ahmed Bir Uttam.
The premier in her message of condolence recalled his valorous steps in the formation of Bangladesh Air Force and the fearless contribution during the great war of liberation.
The Prime Minister prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
State Minister of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs KM Khalid has also expressed deep grief over the death of Captain Akram.
In a condolence message, the state minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
