Minister Yeafesh Osman’s wife passes away
Bulah Ahmed, the wife of Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafesh Osman and Secretary for Education and Culture of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad, has died.
She died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Sunday morning.
She had been suffering from a geriatric disease for a long time at died at the age of 70.
Bulah Ahmed is the daughter-in-law of renowned writer Shawkat Osman.
A press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology reads, "In her death, the nation lost an honest and ideal politician. She has made a contribution to the politics of Bangladesh. This freedom fighter was actively involved in the 1969 mass movement as a leader of the progressive movement. As a leader of Mohila Parishad, she contributed to various national society building activities including women's empowerment, social welfare, development of education system etc."
The Ministry of Science and Technology extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and wishes peace to the soul of the deceased.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also expressed deep grief over the death of Bulah Ahmed. PM conveyed her deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
