Noted cinematographer Aminul Islam Mintu is no more
National Award winning cinematographer Aminul Islam Mintu has died of Covid-19 on Friday night.
He was hospitalised with Covid-19 on 11 December. Later he was put on life support on 14 December as his condition deteriorated.
After being on life support for five days, the 81-year-old cinematographer breathed his last at the capital's Bangladesh Specialized Hospital on December 18, his son Farhan Islam told The Business Standard.

He was laid to eternal rest at the Banani Graveyard in the capital, after namaz-e-janaza on Saturday afternoon.
Aminul Islam Mintu was born on 5 August in 1939. He began his video editing career as an assistant editor under Bashir Hossain in the film Chanda, released in 1962.
He was renowned for his work in "Akheri Station", "Mala", "Talash", "Payel", "Anari", "Chokori", "Chand ar Chandni", "Pich Dhala Poth", "Daag", "Bijli", "Sareng Bou", "Ongar" and "Goriber Bou", among many other memorable cinemas.
He bagged the National Film Award for Aghat in 1986, Apeksha in 1986, Gariber Bou in 1990 and Ajante in 1996.
