Only chief adviser will announce polls date; others expressing personal opinions: CA press wing
Only Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus will announce when the next elections will be held and those talking about it are expressing their personal opinions, the CA's Press Wing said today (24 November).
At a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir said no date for the election had been given so far by the CA or his office.
In response to another question, CA's Deputy Press Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder said everyone can give their opinion, but the government had formed the Election Commission in full compliance with the law.
Responding to a question about the harassment of journalists including the editor of the English daily New Age, Nurul Kabir, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Majumder said an explanation had already been given in this regard.
