People continue to leave Dhaka on Eid day

Holidaymakers have continued to leave Dhaka city to spend Eid vacation with their families in hometowns today as people across the country are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr.
Thousands of home-bound people were seen gathering at bus terminals in the capital despite lockdown and restrictions on long-haul public transport.
Reportedly, many buses at the Gabtali bus terminal were carrying passengers to their full capacity, defying government orders. They charged passengers double the usual fare.
Passengers could travel to Paturia ferry terminal, Tangail's Pakutia and Nagpur from Gabtali.
Some were seen hiring private cars and microbuses to various destinations.
Complaining about the increased fare, a home-bound passenger said, "I can't afford the excess fare that the buses plying today are demanding. That is why I am taking different routes to reach my destination."
