Speaking at an event titled "Maulana Bhasani and New Bangladesh" in Tangail, he said, "We are a people appointed by the people, representing the people. If there is any dissatisfaction or reluctance among the people regarding advisers, then their [advisers] actions will have to prove that they are on the side of the people. People will judge the new advisers on their performance."

He also said the past government had tried to distort history to serve their own purpose.
"We have said that there is no single father of the nation. We have many founding fathers. Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani is one of them. We want to present the true history of Bangladesh to our next generation," he added.
Azad Khan Bhasani, member secretary of Bhasani Parishad, read the article in the meeting under the chairmanship of poet and writer Farhad Mazhar.
