Police arrest former BCL vice president Nishita Iqbal
DB officials also arrested Alfatara Kajal, joint general secretary of BCL’s Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall unit at Dhaka University (DU)
The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested Nishita Iqbal, former vice president of now banned Bangladesh Chhatra League's central committee.
DB officials also arrested Alfatara Kajal, joint general secretary of BCL's Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall unit at Dhaka University (DU).
Nishita was arrested from the capital's Bashundhara Residential Area last night (14 December), while Kajal was arrested from Chandrima Housing Area in Mohammadpur, confirmed Rezaul Karim Mallick, additional commissioner of the detective branch of police.

He said, "There are cases against the duo with Kalabagan police station in which they have been arrested."
According to DB sources, some BCL leaders and activists brought out a procession at the capital's Panthapath area two days ago. Nishita and Kajal led the procession, said DB sources.
