Police Cyber Support for Women resolves 170 cases in two days
The law enforcers have also launched investigations after taking cognizance of 469 complaints
The Police Cyber Support for Women has resolved 170 complaints within two days of its launch.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, Assistant Inspector General (Media and Public Relations) of the Police Headquarters, Md Sohel Rana said the unit had received 691 complaints since the page was launched – 331 on 17 November and 360 on 18 November.
Around 25% of the complaints received during these two days have been resolved.

The police have contacted 52 complainants for additional information, paving the way for further investigation.
Law enforcement officers have also launched investigations after taking cognizance of 469 complaints. They will complete investigations and take legal steps as soon as possible, if warranted.
Most of the complaints submitted by female cyberbullying victims involve blackmail, pornography, misuse and hacking of Facebook IDs, and online threats.
On 16 November, Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed ceremonially launched the Police Cyber Support for Women unit at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Auditorium.
