Police quiz Pori Moni for hours
Police officials said it is part of the investigation
Savar Police – the investigating authority of the attempted murder and rape case of Pori Moni, has quizzed the Dhallywood actress for around four hours at the police station on the outskirts of the capital.
Police officials said it is part of the investigation and the plaintiff should thoroughly narrate her statement to include anything she might have missed to mention in her first information report.
"In most cases, the entire incident cannot be stated in the first information report (FIR), then the police need to know the details from the victim or the plaintiff," Abdullah Hil Kafi, additional superintendent of police, Savar Circle of the Dhaka district, told The Business Standard.
"That is why Pori Moni has been asked to come to Savar Police Station. There is nothing negative in that session,"
Shamsunnahar Smrity, who is popularly known as Pori Moni among her legions of fans, arrived at Savar Police Station around 2:30pm on Sunday.
Later she went to the office of the additional superintendent of police in Savar – where she was quizzed till 7pm.
"The investigation officer will include all those information and obviously will verify with the FIR she filed against businessmen Nasir U Mahmood, Tuhin Siddiqui Omi and four others," said Abdullah Hil Kafi.
The investigation officer refused to make any comment over the issue and said all the information will be included in the charge sheet.
On June 14, Pori Moni filed a case against Mahmood, Omi, and the others for allegedly attempting to rape and murder her at a club in the capital's Uttara.
Investigators on June 17 said some of their findings contradicted parts of Pori Moni's complaint.
Security camera footage showed Pori Moni and her companions walking into the club normally as soon as the car stopped at the entrance of the club around 12:22am.
The actor was carried out into a waiting car around 1:59am, said officials familiar with the investigation.
Mahmood and Omi were arrested from Uttara soon after the case was filed by Pori Moni.
Following the arrest, police pressed drug charges against the two over the recovery of liquor and yaba tablets during the raid.
They have been remanded on the narcotics case, and later in the case filed by Pori Moni.
