3 BNP wings to hold protest march to Indian HC tomorrow
Rizvi accuses India of attempting to mislead the world by spreading false narratives
The BNP's three front organisations – Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal – will bring out a march towards the Indian High Commission in Dhaka tomorrow to protest the recent attack at the Bangladesh mission in Agartala and the desecration of Bangladesh flag.
The three organisations will also protest against what the party describes as an Indian "plot to incite communal riots" in Bangladesh.
The programme will begin from the BNP central office at Nayapaltan central office at 10am, said a press release issued by Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal today.
The leaders and activists of the three organisations will also submit a memorandum to the Indian High Commission in protest against the issues.
In another development, a section of India's civil society under the rightist Hindu nationalist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) announced that they will take out a protest march to the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on 10 December.
On 2 December, supporters of several right-wing organisations in India attacked the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission premises in Agartala, Tripura, in protest against alleged minority persecution in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh expressed deep resentment over the violent demonstration and "heinous attack" by members of the Hindu Sangharsh Samity, while India said it was "deeply regrettable".
Meanwhile, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accused India of attempting to mislead the world by spreading false narratives about Bangladesh to support the ousted Awami League government.
"Politicians, policymakers and many media figures in neighbouring countries - particularly those who compromise their integrity - are crying over the escape of the despotic ruler [Sheikh Hasina]," he said while speaking to reporters at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute Hospital.
"They're trying to confuse the world by fabricating falsehoods, such as claims that Hindu homes are being torched and Hindus are being killed in Bangladesh. But, in this age of technology, their efforts are failing," Rizvi added.
He said the false propaganda being spread by India gives an impression that violent "murderers and bloodthirsty" people dominate the neighbouring country.
He strongly condemned the disrespect of Bangladesh's national flag in India, as well as the recent attack on the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala.
"They (Indians) have gone so far that they have torn down the flag of our independent beloved motherland. As per the Vienna Convention, they have committed a terrible and serious international crime by raising their hands on our diplomatic officials," the BNP leader said.
He also criticised India for failing to acknowledge the cruelty and violence that Sheikh Hasina has inflicted on the citizens of her own country.
