Practice honesty, stay humble: Sheikh Hasina urges party men
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon party men to practice honesty and shun the path of corruption.
She said, "It is honourable to eat simple rice and salt earned by honestly over biriyani brought from money bagged by corruption."
She also urged everyone to stay alert so that the corrupt and criminals cannot come to power.
The premier was addressing the 3rd national council of Awami Swechchhasebak League, an associate body and the volunteer wing of the Bangladesh Awami League at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
A total of 1,975 councillors and around 18,000 delegates and 15,000 guests have joined the function, said Nirmal Ranjan Guha, convener of the council preparatory committee of Swechchhasebak League.
The premier inaugurated the 3rd national council by releasing pigeons and balloons at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan this morning.
AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and AL Organizing Secretary and founding president of Swechchhasebak League AFM Bahauddin Nasim were present on the dais as special guests.
