Tougher fight ahead, says Farhad Mazhar backing Mahfuj
"This is not an easy task in geopolitics and neoliberal capitalist systems. But Bangladesh is ready. There will be a tougher fight ahead,” he said
If anyone thought that Mahfuj Alam was alone, then they would be making a big mistake, poet Farhad Mazhar said today (13 October), expressing his support towards the chief adviser's special assistant.
"Those of us who are with Mahfuj, we will remain (with him) because Mahfuj did not appear suddenly. Young people have emerged from the conflict and struggle of the society. They are the future. Know the society and you will also know the people like Mahfuj," Mazhar said in a Facebook post.
He said as a political group, they must stand tall. "This is not an easy task in geopolitics and neoliberal capitalist systems. But Bangladesh is ready. There will be a tougher fight ahead."
He said it took decades for a community to find Mahfuj, Akhtar, Nahid, Asif, Nusrat, Akram, Arif, Zahid, Tushar, Umama, Hasnat, Sarjis, Nazifa, Abu Bakr, Tariqul, Sanjanad – those who led the student movement against the government in July.
"We who look ahead and talk about the present, we understand that we will get the results of the intellectual leap that has happened in Bangladesh because of the youth. Bangladesh will not look back. Be sure," he said.
Mazhar said their job is to stand by them (Mahfuj and others) and help them identify the mistakes of inexperience to ensure their emergence as a more cohesive political force. "None of us are angels."
