We envision a Bangladesh where religious places need no guards: Jamaat ameer
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has emphasised the need for harmony among all religious communities in the country.
"Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians coexist peacefully in Bangladesh. We aspire to create a nation where no religious place of worship requires guarding," he said while speaking as the chief guest at a union leaders' meeting in Jhalakathi today (2 December).
Shafiqur Rahman asserted that under Jamaat's leadership, people would no longer have to struggle for their rights.
"We will ensure everyone receives their due respect and rights. Bribery and corruption in courts and offices will be eradicated. Farmers will receive fair prices for their produce, and workers will be paid their rightful wages," he pledged.
He stressed the importance of national unity to maintain stability, warning against conspiracies by "allies of fallen dictator" aimed at destabilising the nation.
He urged people to remain vigilant and not fall into traps set by such groups.
