Quota movement: Suhana and Anis Ahmed Foundation to fund medical expenses of 210 injured

Suhana & Anis Ahmed Foundation (SAAF) has reached out to the coordinators of the quota reform movement to extend financial supports for 210 injured.

Under the leaderships with the coordinators, SAAF has joined ongoing efforts including careful assessments of each injured's medical attention, working closely with hospitals such as the National Institute of Traumatology, Orthopedic & Rehabilitation (NITOR), Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, and others across the country, says a press release.

On the occasion, Dr Md Mozaffor Hossain, joint director of NITOR; Nusrat Tabassum, Wahiduzzaman, Masuduzzaman – coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement – and Asha Paul, deputy general manager of the Suhana & Anis Ahmed Foundation, were present.

Dr Md Mozaffor Hossain has appreciated the continuous support of Suhana & Anis Ahmed Foundation and requested to continue it as per patient requirement.

The three key coordinators of the movement said, "For our injured brothers and sisters, the government's support has been vital, but SAAF's additional efforts have been transformative. From surgeries to ensuring critical medications and specialized care, SAAF's dedication to the injured is unwavering, filling essential gaps hope where it's needed most."

Anis Ahmed, co-founder and co-chairman of SAAF, said, "For us at SAAF, it's not just about providing financial support—it's about restoring hope to those who have sacrificed everything for our right to freedom of speech and a life of dignity," said

He added, "Our commitment will continue until they fully recover, and be on their feet to enjoy this hard-earned freedom."

As Bangladesh moves forward from the violence, the stories of those affected and the unwavering support from SAAF highlight the resilience and courage needed to rebuild lives. SAAF is committed, and will ensure that these change-makers—are not forgotten, even as they continue to bear the weight of their sacrifices.

SAAF's contributions extend far beyond financial aid. The foundation is actively supporting major surgeries, ensuring the availability of critical medications like injectable antibiotics and surgicalsupplies, and coordinating specialized care for severely injured individuals. Additionally, SAAF is managing the consistent delivery of essential medicines to hospitals, ensuring that everyone receives the necessary treatment.
