Rafiqul Islam Madani sued in another case
Another case has been filed against religious speaker Rafiqul Islam Madani (27) – also known as child preacher — under the Digital Security Act in Dhaka.
One Syed Adnan filed the case with Motijheel Police Station bringing allegation of making anti-state remarks and inciting chaos.
Jahidul Islam, assistant commissioner (Motijheel Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the news to The Business Standard, saying they are looking into the allegations.
Apart from Madani, four others - Mohammad Amzad, Mahmudul Hassan Murtuza, HM Lokman Hossain and Tawhid Islam – were accused in the case.
Contacted, the plaintiff claimed that he is not affiliated with any political organisation and had filed the case as a conscious citizen.
He mentioned in the First Information Report that Rafiqul Islam Madani had made various anti-state and chaos inciting remarks on YouTube and other social media platforms.
In an aftermath, the common people are being confused and subjected to different sorts of sufferings.
At the same time, violence have taken place at different places across the country what deteriorated the law and order situation.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Rafiqul Islam Madani from his ancestral home in Netrokona's Purbatola area. Later, he was shown arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.
