Railway Ministry probe team inspect Kasba train accident spot
Intercity train Turna Nishita collided with Udayan Express at Mandabhag rail station on November 12
The four-member probe team of the Ministry of Railways has started investigating the tragic train accident in Kasaba upazila of Brahmanbaria that killed 16 and injured dozens passengers on Tuesday.
The committee, led by Additional Secretary (Law and Land) of Railway Ministry, Md Rafiqul Islam arrived at Mandabhag Station on Wednesday afternoon.
The team will submit the report within five working days.
The investigation committee inspected the accident site and spoke with the locals. They also spoke to the station master of Mandabhag Jakir Hossain Chowdhury and gathered data from the panel boards and register.
"We are gathering information and will submit the report after reviewing them," said the committee chief.
Sixteen people were killed and dozens injured as Udayan Express and Turna Nishita collided at Mandabhag Railway Station on Dhaka-Sylhet route in Brahmanbaria's Kasba at around 3am Tuesday.
