Rawhide prices during Eid-ul-Adha to remain unchanged
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi announced the decision on Tuesday
The prices of rawhide will remain unchanged compared to the previous year during Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi announced the decision after a meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, saying: “The price of rawhide will remain the same this year considering the overall condition of the leather industry.”
Similar to the previous years’ decision, tanners would have to buy per square feet salted rawhides of cow and buffalo for Tk 45-50 in Dhaka and for Tk 35-40 outside the capital.
The price of salted leather for castrated goats was fixed at Tk 18-20 per square feet throughout the country, while for un-castrated goat it was fixed Tk 13-15.
