15-km tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway
The tailback was created stretching from Gorai to Pakullah in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail since Wednesday dawn
A 15-kilometre long tailback has been created on Dhaka-Tangail highway, due to the repairing work and heavy pressure of vehicles ahead of 10-day holiday over coronavirus prevention.
The tailback was created stretching from Gorai to Pakullah in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail since Wednesday dawn.
Officer-in-charge of Gorai Highway Police Station Zahidul Islam said, "Pressure of the vehicle increases on the highway as people are rushing to their home after getting holiday due to the coronavirus situation."
"Besides, repairing work was underway at Dholla Bridge by closing a lane. We talked to the construction company. After that, they stopped the repairing work temporarily. So vehicle will move through both of the lanes and tailback will be reduced gradually," he added.
