Employees of Sanofi Bangladesh, a French pharmaceutical company, on Thursday went on a hunger strike as their demand of compensation packages are not met yet.

There was no visible response from the country Chairman of Sanofi Bangladesh Ram Prasad Krishna Bhatt and Managing Director Muin Uddin Mazumder, said the protesting employees.
Moreover, warning letters have been sent to the sales department and the district managers to join the office otherwise, the company will stop paying them.
On October 07, workers of Sanofi Bangladesh formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka and sent the company a 72-hour ultimatum, demanding a severance plan.
The biopharmaceutical giant on October 27 issued the warning after its employees gave a 72-hour ultimatum demanding compensation as the company is going to shut down its operation in Bangladesh.
On October 31, the employees threatened of going on a symbolic hunger strike if their demand is not met, said General Secretary of Sanofi Bangladesh Employees Welfare Committee Sanjib Chakrabarty.
