Satkhira man ‘kills’ nephew over land dispute
The victim was taken to the Sadar Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
A man was reportedly murdered by his uncle and cousins over a land-related dispute at Sonabaria village of Kalaroa upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Alfaz Hossain Gazi, 30, son of Shahadat Gazi of the village.
Quoting victim’s elder brother Altaf Gazi, police said they had a long-running dispute with their uncle Soleman Gazi over the ownership of a plot.

Alfaz had an altercation with his uncle on Tuesday night. At one point, Soleman and his sons Ismail, Goni and Nazmul attacked Alfaz around 10 pm and stabbed him indiscriminately.
Alfaz, critically injured in the attack, was taken to the Sadar Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, said Manirul Gias, officer-in-charge of Kalaroa Police Station.
Two of the accused have been arrested while another went into hiding, he said.
