Satkhira torch procession protests Gazipur student attacks, demands ban on AL
Members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens' Committee held a torch procession in Satkhira today (9 February) to protest recent attacks on students in Gazipur and demand a ban on Awami League's politics.
The procession began at Asif Chattar this evening and concluded at the Central Shaheed Minar.
Participants chanted slogans calling for a ban on the AL, whom they labeled "mass murderers" and "fascists."
Arafat Hossain, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Satkhira, said, "We do not want to see any AL politics in this country. They must be banned. Those who attacked students in Gazipur must be arrested and punished."
Members of various levels of both the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens' Committee took part in the torch procession.
