Shahriar Kabir placed on two-day remand in Jatrabari murder case

Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee President Shahriar Kabir was placed on two-day remand today (20 October) in connection with the murder of Rafiqul Islam in the city's Jatrabari.
Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider passed the order after Sub-Inspector of Jatrabari Police Station Mahbub Alam and also the investigation officer of the case produced Shahriar before the court with a seven-day remand plea.
On 18 July, Rafiqul was shot dead by police in front of Monowara Hospital under Jatrabari Police Station during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
On 1 September, Narjia Begum, wife of Rafiqul Islam, filed a murder case with Jatrabari Police Station in connection with the murder.
Shahriar Kabir was arrested from his Banani residence on 16 September.
Later, he was placed on seven-day remand in connection with another murder case.
