Shakti Foundation and Oculin Tech BD offer free IT training for students
A project titled "Coding for Girls" has been undertaken in a joint initiative by Shakti Foundation, a leading national NGO, and Oculin Tech BD, one of the innovative information technology companies, in an attempt to further strengthen Digital Bangladesh and to create a skilled future generation.
Initially, the training programme will be run in two schools - Lalpur Nazrul Islam High School in Titas Upazila in Cumilla and Srinivasdi Government Primary School in Araihazar Upazila in Narayangonj, says a press release.
Girl students of Class 10 to 12 will be trained in basic computer operation, graphic designing, web development and programing language (coding) under this programme. A colourful inauguration ceremony was held on 10 October at Lalpur Nazrul Islam High School to start the project.
ATM. Morshed, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Titas, Cumilla graced the ceremony as the chief guest, while Anwara Chowdhury, Upazila Secondary Education Officer and Md. Bashir Ullah, Headmaster, Lalpur Nazrul Islam High School were present as special guests. The inaugural ceremony was presided by Lt. General Md. Moinul Islam (retd.).
The objective of the programme was presented by Humaira Islam, PhD, Founder and Executive Director of Shakti foundation, and Yasmin Akhtar, Head of the Human Resource Department of Oculin Tech BD. Twenty girls from the first batch of the training were also present.
