Shomi Kaiser arrested
Police have arrested Shomi Kaiser, actress and former president of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh, from the capital's Uttara.
She was arrested from a house in Uttara Sector-4 during a raid around 12:30am today (6 November), Rownok Jahan, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told The Business Standard.
On 9 October, BNP activist Syed Hasan Mahmud filed a case against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Shomi Kaiser, folk singer and former lawmaker Momtaz Begum, former minister Tarana Halim, and 13 others accusing them of attempting to kill him in June 2022.

Mahmud filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Belal Hossain.
Shomi will be shown arrested in the case, Rownok Jahan said.
Shomi Kaiser is the daughter of martyred intellectual Shahidullah Kaiser.
