Speakers demand justice over Banshkhali workers killings

Condemning killings of workers in Chattogram's Banskhali, Speakers have demanded proper justice and compensation for victim families.
They came up with the demands from an online discussion arranged by Ganosamhati Andolon virtually.
The speakers in the online discussion claimed that SA Alam was colluding with the government and demanded that there should be exemplary punishment for this murder, the culprits should be found and brought to justice, reads a press release.
Professor Anu Mohammad of Jahangirnagar University's Economics Department, Zonayed Saki, chief coordinator of Ganosamhati Andolon and The Business Standard Chattogram Bureau Chief Shamsuddin Illius spoke in the discussion as guests.
Hasan Maruf Rumi, coordinator of Chattogram Region of Ganosamhati Andolon, coordinated the discussion which took place on Sunday at 4pm.
Earlier on Saturday, workers clashed with police at an under-construction power plant operated by the S Alam Group and China-based SEPCO3 in Banshkhali, Chattogram, killing at least five people and injuring dozens more.
