Textile worker dies of electrocution in Munshiganj
Mithun got electrocuted while working at the electrical transmission line inside the factory around 10:30am, said his co-worker Jahangir Mia
A worker of Ideal Textile Mill at West Mukterpur in Munshiganj died of electrocution today (23 September).
The deceased has been identified as Mithun Pal, 30, hailing from Ramganj upazila in Lakhsmipur.
Mithun got electrocuted while working at the electrical transmission line inside the factory around 10:30am, said his co-worker Jahangir Mia.
"He was rushed to Munshiganj General Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead," Jahangir added.
Contacted, Dr SM Ferdous, a doctor at the hospital's emergency department, said, "Mithun died before reaching the hospital. Various parts of his body were burnt due to electrocution."
Meanwhile, Officer In-Charge of Munshiganj Sadar police station Khalil Ahmed said that they have heard about a textile worker dying while working in the electrical transmission line inside his factory.
"The body has been sent to Dhaka and kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy. We will take actions if anyone from his family complains," Khalil added.
