Tourists turn up as Kuakata beach welcomes them
Several hundred tourists were seen enjoying the sunset at the beach on Friday afternoon
A good number of tourists visited Kuakata beach of the Bay of Bengal in Patuakhali on Friday to find respite from the worries that the novel coronavirus pandemic has inflicted on life.
All the hotels, motels and restaurants in the area reopened on July 1 after remaining closed for around four months.
Around 10,000 people involved in the 130 hotels and motels in the area have resumed their work.

They are eagerly waiting for receiving guests following health guidelines,said sources in the Kuakata Hotel and Motel Owners' Association.
"We got fifteen rooms booked out of 28 roomson Friday. It was beyond our imagination that we would get so many guests now," said Shajjed Ahmed, manager of hotel Graver International atthe beach.
Several hundred tourists were seen enjoying the sunset at the beach on in the afternoon.
"We have come to visit the sea beachto get relief as we were confined to our houses for a long time due to the pandemic," said Rayhan, a university student who was enjoying the natural beauty with his friends at the beach.
"We are getting good response from our guests. They are interested to come here. We are assuring them of proper health safety measures," said Md Al-Amin, operation manager of Shikder Resort.
He said manytourists have already started booking rooms at the resort.
Rashedul Islam, an employee in a private company in Barishal city, said he booked a hotel room for visiting Kuakata sea beach with his family members next Friday.
The hotel owners are expecting that more guests would come to visit the beautiful tourist spot to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset on next Friday and the number of tourists will increase further during the holidays.
"We are expecting that a huge number of guests will come to visit the tourist spot during the upcoming Eid vacation.All of us are taking preparation for that," said Al-Amin.
"Before the pandemic hit, the beach was flooded with tourists. We are expecting the same rush of tourists now," said Motaleb Sharif, secretary of the Kuakata Hotel and Motel Owners' Association.
