Trade activities at Sonamasjid Land Port to remain suspended for 6 days due to Durga Puja
Normal trade operations are scheduled to resume on the morning of 15 October, confirmed Mamun Or Rashid, General Secretary of the Sonamasjid Land Port Import-Export Group on Tuesday
In observance of the Sharadiya Durga Puja, all import-export activities at the Sonamasjid Land Port will remain suspended for six consecutive days, from 9 October to 14 October.
Normal trade operations are scheduled to resume on the morning of October 15, confirmed Mamun Or Rashid, General Secretary of the Sonamasjid Land Port Import-Export Group on Tuesday (8 October).
During this period, while trade operations will be halted, passengers holding valid passports will still be able to travel between Bangladesh and India through the port's immigration checkpoint.
The decision to suspend trade has been coordinated with authorities at India's Mahadipur Land Port, who notified their Bangladeshi counterparts in advance via official correspondence.
However, port officials have clarified that the loading and unloading of goods already present within the port premises will continue uninterrupted throughout the suspension period.
