DSCC’s rickshaw-van registration, renewal time extended by 3 days
Concurrently, the deadline for the submission of collected applications has been extended by four days
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has extended the deadline of the registration, renewal and change of ownership of rickshaws, vans, wheelbarrow-trolleys, and horse carriages for three days, till September 30.
Concurrently, the deadline for the submission of collected applications has been extended by four days, till October 1, read a press release of the DSCC, Saturday.
Regarding the extension, DSCC chief revenue officer Ariful Haque said, "We received an unprecedented response after starting the process of registration, renewal and change of ownership of non-mechanical vehicles – including rickshaws and vans – in the DSCC area."
"Following this, many rickshaw owners' organisations and rickshaw pullers have requested that we extend the deadline for registration, renewal and change of ownership and submission of collected applications," he added.
The DSCC received 145,248 applications between September 13-24, he said.
DSCC mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh inaugurated the process of registration, renewal and change of ownership of non-mechanical vehicles on the premises of Nagar Bhaban on September 13.
The applications can be collected from and submitted to the Store and Purchasing Office as well as regional offices for a non-refundable Tk100.
Registration will be provided after the verification and selection of the applications received.
