Metro rail to resume tomorrow
Metro rail services will remain off on Fridays, like before.
Metro rail service will resume tomorrow (24 August) as the agitating employees of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) returned to work last Tuesday (20 August).
However, the metro rail will not stop at Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations, Mohammad Abdur Rouf, the company secretary of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL), told TBS.
Test runs of the metro rail continued since Tuesday to determine if there were any issues.
After its resumption, the headway for the metro rail will be eight minutes during peak hours, ten minutes during special off-peak hours, and twelve minutes during off-peak hours.
Metro rail services will remain off on Fridays, like before.
Last Tuesday, employees in grades 10 to 20 returned to work after the DMTCL board accepted their demand for a salary hike.
The board also formed a committee to address their demand for the payment of arrears.
