Metro rail service resumes after 1 hour's suspension
Metro rail services resumed after a temporary suspension of over one hour caused by a "technical glitch."
"After a shutdown due to a lack of voltage in the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) on the Pallabi section, metro rail services resumed around 4:00pm," DMTCL Public Relations Officer Trafdardar Mahmudul Rahman said.
The train was stopped from 2:40pm on Sunday (4 January).
The suspension of metro services caused immense suffering for passengers.
Earlier in the day, the metro rail authorities at Uttara Station were seen locking the collapsible gate of the station due to huge pressure of passengers, reports UNB.
The huge crowd was noticed today as Ijtema devotees gathered at metro rail station after attending Akheri Munajat.
All tickets were sold out so the authorities closed the gate of the station.
