OBHAI adds plexiglass wall to protect passengers, drivers from coronavirus

Ride-sharing app OBHAI launched a plexiglass shield between the driver, and passenger's seating compartment ensuring maximum protection during rides to curve the spread of Covid-19.

As Bangladesh partially eases on lockdown with resumption of offices and public transport, OBHAI steps up the notch on its in-vehicle hygiene standards even further by installing plexiglass barriers on its cars and CNGs between the drivers and passengers to prevent coronavirus germs from travelling between them, said a press release.

Encapsulated as well on driver's seats, the plexiglass is made up of transparent 3mm acrylic sheets, weighing no more than 5kgs and fitted firmly between the driver and the passengers.

With several OBHAI G and OBHAI CNG already fitted with the protective screen, OBHAI expects to have them installed in all the vehicles across the country in coming weeks.

This comes in addition to OBHAI's already prevailing hygiene standards of regular vehicle disinfection, providing hand sanitizers to drivers, facilitating contactless payments and providing masks to both drivers and passengers. With limitations of social distancing and health guidelines applicable on already overwhelmed public transport system, OBHAI will come as a relief to all essential commuters.

The Plexiglass walls are being fitted, and rolled out in most of the vehicles in every 33 towns OBHAI operates today.
