Travel ban imposed against Durjoy, his wife
The ACC in its petition told the court that a series of allegations are under investigation against Durjoy
A Dhaka court today (3 October) imposed a travel ban on former Awami League lawmaker and ex-captain of Bangladesh cricket team Naimur Rahman Durjoy and his wife Farhana Rahman.
The Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Dhaka Mohammad Ash-Sams Jaglul Hossain imposed the ban following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC in its petition told the court that a series of allegations are under investigation against Durjoy. The allegations include misuse of power, business in the name of appointment and misappropriation of government money by corruption and acquiring huge property and money beyond non sources of income.
The petitioner also claimed that Durjoy and his wife may flee the country to avoid investigation. If they fled the country, the ACC's probe may be hampered or delayed.
