Two ‘drug dealers’ killed in Dinajpur ‘gunfight’
DB police also recovered 150 bottles of Phensedyl, a firearm, bullets and yaba pills from the spot
Two suspected drug dealers were killed in a reported gunfight with police's Detective Branch (DB) in Dinajpur's Tajpur area early today.
The deceased are Abul Kashem alias Kaissa and Laskar Ali alias Rahmat Ali. Both hailed from Linepar Sipahi Para area of the district.
"Based on secret information, a team of DB police took their position at Ramsagar (East) area to recover drugs," said Officer-in-Charge of Dinajpur DB police A T M Golam Rosul.
"Police challenged a gang of 10-12 people while they were passing by them. The gang then opened fire on the law enforcers forcing them to retaliate," he said.
Kashem and Laskar were found dead after the gun battle.
"Two DB police were also injured during the gunfight," said Golam Rosul.
The details of the deceased are being investigated, he added.
The OC also said DB police recovered 150 bottles of Phensedyl, a firearm, bullets and yaba pills from the spot.
