Two killed in Satkhira road crash

Two workers of a brick kiln were killed after a soil laden truck ran over them in Satkhira early Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Monirul Islam, 33, and Mohammad Ali, 42, both hailing from Bokchara village of Satkhira Sadar Upazila.
Kasiruddin Laskar, a local said, "I along with Monirul and Mohammad were going to work on bicycles when a soil laden truck hit them from the opposite side and severely injured them. They were taken to Satkhira Medical College Hospital in critical condition where the duty doctor declared them dead."
Confirming the accident, Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Satkhira Police Station, said, "The truck driver fled the scene. The bodies have been sent to Satkhira Medical College Hospital for autopsy."
