Woman dies after taking rat poison, 3 daughters hospitalised

A mother has died and her three daughters have fallen sick after taking rodenticides mistaken as medicine for intestinal worms in Singra upazila of Natore, said police this morning (6 February).
The deceased Sharmin Begum, 30, was wife of local businessman Murad Hossain at Borogram area under Dahia union of the upazila.
The twin daughters- Jim Khatun, and Mim Khatun, 8, and three-year-old Sinha Khatun, were undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital in Bogura.
The four took the pesticides at their house at 10pm and neighbours said they rushed after hearing them screaming.
The neighbours took them to hospital where physicians declared the mother dead.
Office-in-Charge of Singra police station Asmaul Haque said they visited the house and actions would be taken accordingly after investigation.
