Women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh face 10 challenges: Experts
They also came up with four recommendations to face the challenges
Experts discussed 10 challenges that women entrepreneurs in the country experience while doing export-oriented business.
They unveiled the challenges during a seminar at the Eighth National Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Product Fair on Thursday at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
The challenges are lack of self-confidence and freedom of movement, lack of information about development programmes, inability to collect right documents, lack of know-how on export marketing, technical knowledge, lack of export-oriented products, capital crisis, low quality products, knowledge lacking about export process, and transport and residential crisis.
They also came up with four recommendations to face the challenges.
The recommendations are: support from law enforcing agencies and financial institutions, training over export business, infrastructural and marketing support and organising various seminar-workshops and discussions.
SME Foundation's Managing Director Md Shafiqul Islam presided over the seminar that was held on Thursday, the second day of the eight-day long fair.
The fair was opened from 11am to 2pm only for the foreign visitors.
