Won’t show favouritism towards any special cadres: ACC DG
He said corrupt bureaucrats will face consequences
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will not spare corrupt bureaucrats, and no favouritism will be shown to any special cadres or individuals, said Akhtar Hossain, director general (anti-corruption) of the commission.
"No special treatment will be afforded to any cadre or individual," he said at a media briefing this (18 December) afternoon.
"Corrupt bureaucrats will face consequences," he said, highlighting ongoing concerns raised by organisations like Transparency International Bangladesh and the media regarding the ACC's impartiality in handling bureaucracy-related corruption.
To address these concerns, he said the ACC has decided to take firm legal action on specific and evidence-based complaints against officers or employees at all levels of the bureaucracy.
