Worker killed in Gazipur road accident; angry mob torches 3 buses

A worker was killed after a bus ran him over while he was crossing Dhaka-Mymensingh highway near Columbia Garments in Gazipur's Basan area on Wednesday (2 October) night.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Quoting locals, Basan Police Station OC Jahangir Alam said the accident occurred around 10:30pm.

Basan Police Station Inspector (investigation) Nandalal Roy said a Balaka Paribahan bus traveling from Dhaka to Gazipur hit a young man near Columbia Garments, leaving him dead on the spot.
In response, an angry mob set fire to three Balaka Paribahan buses, he said.
Gazipur Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Abdullah Al Arefin said firefighters were rushed to the scene upon receiving the report.
