7th session of DKC Peace Talk Café held virtually
The 7th session of Peace Talk Café has been held on Monday, exploring how the problematic and toxic narratives around rape is breeding a rape culture.
Research Associate at Power and Participation Center - (PPRC) Umama Zillur, Bangladesh Legal Aid and Service Trust (BLAST) research expert Takbir Huda, co-founder of DKC Runner Up Team Swayam, UNDP Women Economic Empowerment Specialist Mahmud, Gender Advisor Sharmin Islam, among others, were the invited panel speakers, said a press release.
Adressing the occasion, Umama Zillur said "Raising voices and open public dialogues about rape culture are the beginning of an effective change."
The Peace Talk Cafe, organized by Digital Khichuri Challenge, will continue to play an important role in the near future in building a peaceful, safe and respectful tolerant society for women by preventing violence and reversing distorted interpretations of rape, it added.
