Chevron stands beside communities during pandemic
Meanwhile, in Sylhet, 3,000 relief packs were distributed amongst families of two Wards near Jalalabad Gas Field
Like communities across the world, the Covid-19 global pandemic has had a significant impact on the lives and livelihoods of people in Bangladesh.
Recognising the importance of standing by its fence line communities during this challenging time, Chevron's Bangladesh companies have implemented a multi-phase relief distribution effort, said a press statement on Monday.
During the May-July period, Chevron distributed 5,500 relief packages (containing soap and essential grocery items like rice, lentils, cooking-oil,) among families of three Union Parishads under Nabiganj Upazila of Habiganj district.
Meanwhile, in Sylhet, 3,000 relief packs were distributed amongst families of two Wards near Jalalabad Gas Field.
In Dhaka, 300 packs were distributed amongst underprivileged children of nine charity schools (KushumKoli schools) run by the social welfare committee of the Dhaka Ladies Club.
