RAKUB signs deal with GP to avail secure internet service
The agreement was signed at the bank’s head office by top officials from both companies.
Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has recently signed an agreement with Grameenphone under which the later will provide secured internet service, Smart Connect, through its Machine to Machine (M2M) solution to the bank.
This service will make banking services more up-to-date, easier and digitalised.
The bank's Managing Director (additional responsibility) Mohammad Idris and Grameenphone's Chief Business Officer Kazi Mahboob Hassan led the signing ceremony on behalf of their respective organisation held at the bank's head office in the capital, said a media statement on Thursday.
Under the agreement, Grameenphone will provide secured 'Virtual Private Network' (VPN) services at 373 branches of the bank, including the its head office.
The Smart Connect technology will ensure digital banking services across the North-Western region of the country.
Commenting on the issue, Kazi Mahboob Hassan, chief business officer of Grameenphone, said, "GP is working tirelessly to ensure access to digital services across the country through connectivity. I am thankful to Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank for partnering with us on their digital transformation journey."

Mohammad Kamil Burhan Firdaus, general manager, audit, accounts and collection division of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank; Ashfaquzzaman Chowdhury, business head GP's Rajshahi circle; among others were present on the occasion.
