Bida to introduce 23 more online one-stop services for investors

The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) will integrate 23 new investor services under its online One-Stop Service (OSS) portal. 

To this end, the Bida is working with 10 government agencies to sign memoranda of understanding with them.

The revelation came at an online meeting on the memoranda of understanding for OSS integration with Bida Executive Chairman Md Sirazul Islam in the chair on Thursday. Representatives of the 10 government authorities took part in the discussion. 

The Bida's new partners will be the land ministry, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha Rajuk, Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, Department of Environment, Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defence, Dhaka Power Distribution Company, Northern Electricity Supply Company Limited, West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited, Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

"Our priority is to provide online services, especially at this time of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our stakeholders in the private sector have been communicating for faster, easier and more transparent digital services," said the Bida chief. 

The Bida currently has 12 memoranda of understanding for service integration with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, the National Board of Revenue, Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), Sonali Bank, Election Commission Secretariat, Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Chief Controller of Imports and Exports, Chattogram Development Authority, Bangladesh Power Development Board and Dhaka Electric Supply Company.

The One-Stop Service Centre, the country's first inter-operable online service platform, currently provides 18 services from the Bida, the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms and the National Board of Revenue. 

Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker, secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, was present at the meeting along with top officials from the Power Division, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change. 

They provided feedback on the draft memoranda of understanding and gave assurance over the process's swift completion.
