Five more MoUs signed between ICT and divisional startups

The iDEA Project under of the Department of Information and Communication Technology signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with five more startups on Tuesday to expedite the scope of their activities at grass roots level including the development of startups in different parts of the country.

The startups from Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Cumilla and Barisal were the ones with whom the MoUs were signed, said a media release issued on Tuesday.

Senior Secretary to the ICT Department, NM Ziaul Alam, was present at the signing ceremony as the chief guest.

Deputy Secretary Kazi Hosne Ara, also deputy project director of iDEA Project, signed the MoU with startup Rajshahi and startup Barisal, while Syed Mojibul Haque, director and additional secretary to the iDEA Project, with the startups of Khulna, Chattogram and Cumilla.

Arafatul Islam Akib from startup Chittagong, Mehedi Hasan from Khulna, Tasnim Binte Shawkat from Rajshahi, Md Ferdous Sayem Bhuiyan from Cumilla, ABM Anas from Barisal signed the MoUs on behalf of their respective organisations.

The main objective of signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the startup communities and the iDEA Project is to jointly undertake various initiatives for the development of entrepreneurial culture including various training, mentoring, campaigns and award-giving programmes, fellowships, seminars and research which will encourage entrepreneurs spread all across the country.

Besides, the startup communities will also encourage entrepreneurs to create a startup ecosystem in their own areas.

Such initiatives will play a significant role in making the local entrepreneurs more efficient in the future, added the release.

The idea Project aimed for innovation and entrepreneurship development under the Department of Information and Communication Technology is working to build a nationwide community of entrepreneurs and innovators for the welfare of startups and increase their skills and knowledge.
